Badshah undergoes eye surgery
What was a minor discomfort on stage during his final North American show has now led singer and rapper Badshah to surgery. The 39-year-old rapper revealed on Instagram that he underwent treatment for a corneal abrasion in his left eye. He posted pictures of himself with a patch on his eye. He referenced his cameo in the recently released show *The Badshah of Bollywood*.
Now, a source close to Badshah told Hindustan Times that the injury actually occurred during the final leg of his tour. The source shared that the Sanak singer was uncomfortable, but continued performing until the end. They added:
"The Indian doctor he visited immediately realized something was wrong because he had been constantly scratching his eye. Turns out it turned out to be a corneal abrasion, and he underwent routine surgery for it."
Badshah's Recovery Plan
This mishap occurred after he had successfully completed his The Unfinished Tour—a landmark run for him. The singer hit a major milestone when he took North America by storm. He generated over USD 6 million in ticket sales and attracted over 45,000 fans to sold-out arenas in New Jersey, Virginia, Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, and Chicago.
The scale of the production itself was USD 2 million. The singer now needs to recover from his injury. A source revealed what doctors have prescribed for Badshah.
How did Badshah stay fit during the tour?
Given the nature of his career, maintaining health is extremely crucial. Badshah's shows demand not only showmanship but also physical strength. Therefore, he followed his fitness and recovery regimen. For back-to-back shows across six cities, Badshah's team—led by his long-time trainer Yuvraj Anand—designed a blueprint to keep him healthy and energetic. The trainer revealed that Badshah burned approximately 1,200–1,500 calories per show, and his preparation began hours before showtime.
Yuvraj Anand added that the rapper's nutrition plan included complex carbs and protein-rich meals earlier in the day, and fast-digesting carbs and electrolytes near the performance stage to keep his energy at peak. Along with continuous hydration, amino acid supplements were also included in his diet – so he could handle choreography and high-energy crowd sets.
He further shared:
"Off stage, his diet was a mix of indulgent and tactical. Favorites like chicken tikka and chicken Caesar salad were paired with staples like dal, rajma, or chana with rice. Regular avocado toast and veggie omelettes were also a part of the routine."
