Bollywood buzz is currently abuzz after news broke that Deepika Padukone will no longer be a part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit or Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD sequel. Superstar Prabhas is a common factor in both projects, and this has fueled speculation that his presence was the reason for Deepika's exit. These rumors intensified when the makers officially confirmed that Deepika will not be working in the Kalki sequel, even though a replacement for Spirit had already been announced.
But the truth is that no official statement has yet been issued directly attributing the reason for these exits to Prabhas. According to industry sources, these decisions were primarily made due to production and scheduling issues. Meaning, the actual reason for Deepika's departure could be quite different and not necessarily related to her co-star.
In the case of Spirit, reports suggest that there was a disagreement over contract terms and working conditions, after which Tripti Dimri was finalized by the casting team. The makers have clarified that shooting will begin in September and the project will proceed smoothly.
In the case of the Kalki 2898 AD sequel, news has emerged that Deepika had already shot some scenes, but her role was later drastically reduced to a cameo. This led the actress to decide not to continue with the project. Meanwhile, Deepika shifted her focus to the film King opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Despite all this, fans and the media are speculating whether there's really any tension between Prabhas and Deepika. Until the producers or actors themselves provide clear answers, these will remain mere rumors.
