Diljit Dosanjh Breaks Silence on Pahalgam Attack & Sardar Ji 3 Controversy

Diljit Dosanjh finally clarified his stance regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, the India-Pakistan cricket match, and the Hania Aamir-Sardar Ji 3 controversy. During a concert in Malaysia, he spoke openly and said that he had many answers, but chose to remain silent. Diljit emphasized that Punjabis and the Sikh community can never go against their nation.

What Happened

At a concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Diljit addressed his audience in Punjabi. He clarified the Sardar Ji 3 shooting timeline:

The film Sardar Ji 3 was shot in February, and the India-Pakistan cricket matches were ongoing at that time. The attack happened later, and both nations played matches after that.

Regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, Diljit said:

“We have always prayed that the terrorists receive the strictest punishment. The film was shot before the attack, and the match was played afterward.”

He also mentioned the Asia Cup, in which India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets – the first encounter after the Pahalgam attack. Diljit said he has many answers, but he decided not to take the negativity in.

On Media Portrayal

Diljit also expressed his anger at the media's treatment.

He said:

"The national media tried every possible way to portray me as anti-national. But Punjabis and the Sikh community can never go against their own country."

About the Hania Aamir-Sardar Ji 3 Controversy

The controversy began when the Sardar Ji 3 trailer was released on June 22nd and Hania Aamir's name surfaced. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, the film's release in India was banned, and its overseas release took place on June 27th. Indian film bodies even demanded a permanent ban.

Diljit said in an interview :

When the film was shot, everything was normal. The shoot was completed in February, and there was no such situation at that time. The attack and other events that happened later were beyond our control. The producers decided not to release it in India, but to release it overseas to allow for some recovery.”

On working with Hania Aamir, Diljit said:

“He's very professional, and I respect him a lot. I'm a private person myself and always value the privacy of others. Especially for women, I always maintain dignity and space.”

In a Nutshell

Diljit Dosanjh clarified at a Kuala Lumpur concert that the Sardar Ji 3 and Hania Aamir controversy has been unnecessarily hyped. He also reiterated that the Sikh and Punjabi communities can never go against their country.
