Movies Releasing in Theatres This Week: Idly Kadai, The Smashing Machine, Nikka Zaildar 4 and More

Film enthusiasts are in for a treat this week as a diverse line-up of movies makes its way to the big screen. From emotional family dramas to gritty sports biopics and regional romances, theatres across India and beyond are set to showcase something for everyone.

Idly Kadai

Dhanush returns with yet another compelling story in Idly Kadai, which he also co-produces. The film delves into the clash between tradition and modernity, as a man struggles to save his family’s iconic idli shop from closure. With performances by Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Sathyaraj and R. Parthiban, this emotional drama is scheduled for release on October 1.

Vadapav

Adding regional flavour to the line-up, Marathi film Vadapav brings a heartwarming slice-of-life romance rooted in everyday struggles. Starring Prasad Oak, Gauri Nalawade and Abhinay Berde, the movie combines humour, love and the cultural vibrancy of Maharashtra. The film hits theatres on October 2.

The Smashing Machine

Hollywood joins the list with The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne Johnson as legendary MMA fighter Mark Kerr. Inspired by the 2002 documentary of the same name, the biopic not only captures Kerr’s rise in the UFC but also his personal struggles outside the ring. Emily Blunt stars as Kerr’s wife, Dawn Staples, alongside Ryan Bader, Bas Rutten and Oleksandr Usyk. The film is set for release on October 2.

Nikka Zaildar 4

Punjabi cinema fans can look forward to Nikka Zaildar 4, where Ammy Virk returns in a story that blends romance with wrestling. The film follows a Punjabi man whose perspective changes when he falls in love with a Haryanvi woman passionate about the sport. Also starring Sonam Bajwa and Nirmal Rishi, the film releases on October 2.

Maria

For fans of psychological thrillers, Maria brings a chilling narrative. The story revolves around a nun who abandons her monastery after grappling with awakening desires, only to find herself entangled with a satanic cult. Starring Saishri Prabhakaran, Pavel Navageethan and Sidhu Kumarsen, the film will arrive in theatres on October 3.
