Human Rights Body Member Slams Aryan Khan's The Bads Of Bollywood*: "Don't Tarnish Anti-Drug Agencies"

NHRC member said that some productions are making a mockery of premier law enforcement bodies.

Launching a sharp attack on Bollywood, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) member Priyank Kanoongo said that the credibility of anti-drug agencies is being deliberately undermined in films/web series.

Speaking to NDTV, Kanoongo said, "Bollywood wants to destroy the credibility of agencies that work against drugs."

He also highlighted that some web series make a mockery of anti-drug agencies. Police, constables, and traffic cops have been ridiculed before, and now targeting agencies shows a "negative mindset."

Regarding Gen-Z and the Rights of Officials

Kanoongo said, “We have sent a notice to the I&B Ministry to remove content that affects our Gen-Z and take action against them.”

He said that officials working in these agencies also have human rights, and portraying them as “corrupt or biased” is a violation of their rights.

“Creating a negative environment around them is not allowed… We will not allow the image of any premier agency like the NCB to be tarnished,” he added.

E-Cigarette Violation: Mumbai Police Takes Note

Lawmakers pointed out a specific scene in the web series *The Bads of Bollywood* in which Ranbir Kapoor was allegedly shown smoking an e-cigarette. They stated that this act was a direct violation of a 2019 law that completely bans the manufacturing, advertising, visualization, and consumption of e-cigarettes in India.

Considering this as a criminal offense, the NHRC has sent a notice to the Mumbai Police to register an FIR and take appropriate action against those responsible.
