About
About The Bollywood Wave
An independent publication covering Hindi cinema in English, for readers following it from anywhere in the world.
What we cover
The Bollywood Wave publishes reviews, explainers, box-office analysis and streaming guides for Hindi-language cinema. We write in English for an international readership — the diaspora and the growing global audience who follow Bollywood without necessarily having grown up inside its conventions.
That shapes the work. We explain cultural context rather than assuming it. We cover the international box office as seriously as the domestic one. And we treat “where can I actually watch this” as a real editorial question, because for most of our readers it is.
How we work
Every article is written and edited by a named person. We do not publish anonymous copy, we do not republish press releases as reporting, and we do not run AI-generated articles. Where we use artificial intelligence at all — occasionally for research or transcription — a human writer is responsible for the result.
Our images are either licensed, supplied by studios and platforms for editorial use, embedded from official social accounts, or created by us. We do not use film stills or photographs we have no right to publish. Read our copyright policy for how to raise a concern.
We take corrections seriously and publish them openly rather than silently editing. See our corrections policy and our editorial policy.
How we’re funded
The Bollywood Wave is supported by advertising and by affiliate commissions on some links to streaming services and retailers. Affiliate links never influence a review, a rating or a recommendation, and any article containing them says so. Our affiliate disclosure sets out the detail.
We do not accept payment for coverage. Sponsored content, if we ever run it, is labelled as sponsored on the page and in the markup.
