Our position

The Bollywood Wave respects copyright. We publish images and media only where we hold the right to do so — licensed from an agency, supplied by a studio or platform for editorial use, embedded from an official account under that platform’s own terms, verified public domain, or created by us. Our sourcing standards are set out in the editorial policy.

We do not host, link to, embed or index infringing copies of films, music, subtitles or any other copyrighted work. We do not publish download links. Requests to add them are declined without exception.

Written criticism quoting or describing a work is fair dealing and fair use, and we will defend it. Unlicensed reproduction of images is not, and if we have made that mistake we want to fix it quickly.

Filing a notice

To be actionable under 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3), a notice must include all of the following:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — a direct URL is ideal.
4. Your contact details: address, telephone number and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.

What happens next

We acknowledge valid notices within two working days and, where the claim is well-founded, remove or replace the material promptly — usually the same day. You do not need to threaten litigation to get a response; a clear email is enough.

We keep a record of what was removed and why. Repeat sourcing failures on our side are treated as an editorial process problem, not an accident.

Counter-notice

If material of yours was removed in error, send a counter-notice to the agent above including your signature, identification of the removed material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that its removal was a mistake or misidentification, your contact details, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.

Using our work

Our articles, artwork and data compilations are our copyright. Quoting a reasonable extract with attribution and a link is welcome. Republishing articles in full, or scraping the site, is not — write to contact@thebollywoodwave.com if you want to licence something.
