Editorial Policy
The standards we hold ourselves to, written down so you can hold us to them.

Independence
No advertiser, affiliate partner, studio, streaming platform or publicist sees an article before publication, and none has any influence over what we cover or what we conclude. We do not accept payment for coverage. We do not trade positive reviews for access.
If a commercial relationship exists that a reader might reasonably want to know about, we disclose it in the article itself, not only in a policy page.
Sourcing
We attribute. Where a fact comes from another publication’s reporting, we say so and link to it. We do not present someone else’s exclusive as our own, and we do not rewrite press releases into the appearance of independent reporting.
Box-office figures are compiled from distributor reporting and trade press. Where sources conflict materially we say so rather than picking the most flattering number. Where we have converted currency, we state the rate basis.
We label rumour as rumour, or we do not publish it. We do not run stories about the private lives of people who are not public figures.
Reviews
Reviews carry a named critic’s byline and a rating on our four-point scale. The critic has watched the entire film. We do not review from trailers, clips or press notes.
If a review was written from a press screening or a supplied screener, the article says so. Our rating scale and what each point commits us to is published openly.
Images
We publish images only where we have the right to: licensed from a stock agency, supplied by a studio or platform for editorial use, embedded from an official social media account under that platform’s terms, in the public domain with a verified licence, or created by us.
We do not use film stills, posters or photographs sourced from search engines. Every licensed image carries a visible credit. Artwork generated by us is labelled as such. See our copyright policy if you believe we have got this wrong.
Artificial intelligence
We do not publish AI-generated articles. AI tools may be used for research assistance, transcription or copy-checking, but every published word is written or rewritten and verified by the named human author, who is accountable for it.
Where AI-generated imagery is used illustratively, it is captioned as AI-generated. We never use it to depict a real person in a situation that did not occur.
Corrections
We correct openly rather than editing silently. The process is set out in our corrections policy.
